PayTrace Launches New, Modern, Developer-Friendly API

The new API helps improve system performance and provides faster development timeframes for vital platform updates

PayTrace Launches New, Modern, Developer-Friendly API

We are excited to announce the release of a new version of the PayTrace API: Version 3 (V3). The new, open API is flexible, intuitive and designed for businesses and developers looking to create secure payment experiences that are both modern and innovative.

The new API allows us to better support the gateway and payment platform while leveraging the latest technologies on our backend, helping us to more quickly develop and deliver upgrades and new features. It also ensures we remain responsive to compliance requirements and card brand enhancements.

Benefits of the new PayTrace API V3

The V3 API provides a more modern, efficient, and developer-friendly approach to building and integrating web services and applications. It leverages the simplicity and widespread support of JSON to create APIs that are faster, easier to use, and better aligned with web development best practices.

V3 also provides a variety of additional benefits:

  • Simple and Easy to Use: V3 uses a straightforward, text-based format that is easy for developers to read and machines to parse, significantly simplifying development and debugging.
  • Language Agnostic: Can be used across a wide variety of programming languages and platforms, promoting interoperability.
  • Improved Performance and Efficiency: V3 is optimized for web technologies and integrates seamlessly with modern web development practices, particularly JavaScript-heavy applications.
  • Modern Standards and Widespread Support: V3 continues to leverage JSON, which has become the standard for web APIs. As such, there is a vast ecosystem of tools, libraries, and frameworks available to support development.

New features available

All future enhancements to the PayTrace platform will only be available via V3. The following features are available now and more are coming soon:

  • Trace ACH - allows customers to pay bills directly from their bank account instead of using a credit card, wire transfer or paper check.
  • ERP integrations – allow you to accept embedded payments and automate accounts receivable processes from ERPs such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Acumatica, NetSuite and QuickBooks Online.
